There have been a lot of great moments in the past years but the one I will never forget is when I went to my cousin’s house.
On last Christmas Eve my cousin, Rachel, my sister, Abbi, and I were playing Wii in Rachel’s bedroom when the lights went out and back in again. We kept playing like it never happened. After 5 or 10 min. went by the lights turned off again but this time they stayed off. The Wii turned off too so Abbi went crazy because she was about to beat a level. We all went down stairs. When we were down stairs, my parents were lighting candles and said there was a blackout. Rachel and Abbi looked at each other in amazement, ‘’ Hey ‘’, Abbi said, ‘’ we could call this the blackout Christmas!! ‘’. My Uncle Blair gave flashlights and sent us up stairs. After awhile, we got hungry so we went down stairs. There was a food tray that covered the whole table!! (Well . . . at least the part that was showing.) There were black olives, cookies, cake, pickles, crackers, and salami!! I don’t like salami but Abbi LOVES it. After we ate I was asking mom when we would open 1 of our presents. We always do that it’s like a family tradition. Mom said we would open them when the lights turned back on. An hour went by and still no light. We were begging mom to open the present and finally she said yes. While we were opening it the lights turned back on! Everyone started laughing. Well except Rachel, Abbi, and me. We thought they played a trick on us. They told us it wasn’t a trick so now it’s called the black out Christmas. I had a lot of special moments in the past years but this one I will never forget.
